Mail Spam:
Forged To:,From:, and Message-ID: Headers
- To: Friend@Public.COM is just a header and bears no necessary relationship to the envelope, which must include the victim's address.
- From: 5551212@aol.com is just a header and could have been put there by anyone, even someone not affiliated with AOL.
- From: <mailer-daemon@domain> probably started out as From: <> and does not indicate that your mailer software is spamming you.
- Messaage-ID: is supposed to include an @domain but need not; in fact it can be empty or even missing.
